With increased crowding and congestion becoming a more common problem at Colorado trailheads, Quandary Peak in Summit County is no exception. Quandary Peak is one of the more accessible and easier fourteen-thousand foot mountains in Colorado. RRC Associates teamed up with Otak to analyze potential solutions to increase safety and provide a more enjoyable experience to hikers. Working with a large stakeholder group including the Town of Breckenridge, the Town of Blue River, Summit County, Colorado Department of Transportation, the U.S. Forest Service and others, RRC and Otak provided a report summarizing opportunities to manage visitation, specifically around parking.
